The first class offered in this four part series is Artist Portfolio – Digital and Print. Come find out what should be in every artist’s portfolio, what your portfolio is judged on, and how to approach galleries. You will also learn how to think outside the box about exhibitions, and some insider tips of how to get your work seen. Learn about how to approach galleries and create a portfolio for digital and print.

The Craft Lab will be taught by Linda Labelle who brings years of experience both as a crafter, business owner and as a teacher of craft-based skills. LaBelle has been an active member of HandMade in America’s Appalachian Women Entrepreneurs Program for two years; she joined the HandMade staff in the spring of 2013 as the AWE Program Coordinator. Linda has an Associate’s Degree in Textile Design from FIT, and she comes to HandMade with a strong background in both entrepreneurship and crafts. She is the owner of The Yarn Tree, which operated as a fiber arts studio and store for over 10 years before transitioning The Yarn Tree into an internet business. Linda is a weaver and natural-dyer who travels the world teaching craft-based skills working in diverse locations including Rwanda, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, India, Mexico and Italy.
