The City of Casar dates back to 1890 and this 125th anniversary celebration at Casar Park will include traditions of the past such as: a blacksmith forge, yarn spinning, quilting,pottery, horse & buggy rides, friendship bread & more. There will be music & gospel singing, pie eating contest, bingo, old time costume contest, and a rendition of ” Fire on the Mountain”. Please bring your fruits, vegetables, art, ceramics pottery, crafts or canned items for the Exhibit hall by 3 pm if you would like to enter. The judging will take place at 4 pm. In addition to the historical events there will also be Highland Games for adults: knife, log, & ax throwing, archery contest, tug-a-war, and sling shot. For the children the games include: archery contest, log & hatchet throwing, tug-a-war, sack races, horseshoes, seed spitting contest, relay races, wheel barrow races and 3-legged races. Please bring an item to put in the time capsule for 2040.
