The Earl Scruggs Center presents the Clawhammer Banjo Program featuring one of the best known clawhammer style banjoist, Bob Carlin, on Saturday, September 12, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Carlin has been to different countries sharing the distinctive southern banjo sound with audiences in the US, Canada, Australia, Japan and Europe. Carlin has four Rounder albums and several instruction manuals and videos for the banjo.
The three-time winner of Fret’s Magazine reader’s poll, will give a presentation highlighting North Carolina’s banjo traditions during the program. From Slavery to Scruggs; photographs and recordings are used to evoke the depths of banjo history in the Tarheel State.
