If you want to learn to play the banjo – if you want to play “Scruggs Style” – this is your chance to get started! If you think you want to learn but you don’t have a banjo yet, don’t let that stop you! The Center has a limited number of student models available for use in the workshop. The fee to reserve a banjo is $10 non-members/$5 members in addition to the banjo workshop fee.

Darin Aldridge will lead the workshop. Darin and wife Brooke have received multiple nominations from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPGBMA) and Inspirational Country Music (ICM).

Darin spent six years as a member of the acclaimed bluegrass group, “Country Gentleman,” and is a highly sought-after multi-instrumentalist. Darin has a music studio where he teaches lessons on a number of instruments, including banjo!  His easygoing style will put any beginner at ease while helping you grasp the basics needed for banjo.
