The Earl Scruggs Center is hosting Pat Kelleher from County Cork, Ireland. A well-known folk singer and song writer, Pat will be performing a repertoire of folk songs and music from his native country with historical references and explanations. Pat is a five string banjo player proficient in the claw hammer, folk, and bluegrass styles. He has performed on the folk circuit for over thirty years in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States. Pat has shared the stage with Tommy Makem, Bobby and Finbar Clancy and is largely influenced by musicians including Earl Scruggs, Luke Keller, Pete Seeger, and Ken Perlman. Accompanied by his son Ricky, Pat is renowned for close blood harmonies and tight musical arrangements.
