Celebrating Independence Day is always a patriotic event in Kings Mountain. In honor of the turning point of the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Kings Mountain (fought just south of town), a gathering of over 20 Revolutionary re-enactor militias will be camped prior to Friday and Saturday’s celebration. This is the largest fireworks show between Charlotte and Asheville. There will be a large mock cannon battle prior to the fireworks.
