Award-winning Southern writer Sharyn McCrumb will return to Kings Mountain Historical Museum to regale audiences of all ages with a program based on her 2013 novel Kings Mountain, which has just received the Patricia Winn Award for Southern Fiction. Hear about the women whose courageous actions helped to turn the tide of the revolution, such as Mary Patton, who earned her place in history by providing over five hundred pounds of gunpowder to the Overmountain men, essential to the victory at the Battle of Kings Mountain.

This program is part of Kings Mountain Historical Museum’s Lecture Series focusing on local women’s history, in conjunction with the “Pioneering Women of Cleveland County” exhibit (on display February 7 – May 23, 2015).
