School of Performing & Visual Arts presents Symphonic Band Concert

The Gardner-Webb University Symphonic Band will present a Fall Concert on Tuesday, December 3 at 8:00 p.m. in the Kathleen Dover Theatre on the Boiling Springs campus. Several GWU music majors will be featured performers. Flautist Natasha Puplichhuisen, from the studio of Sam Stowe, will be playing Kent Kennan’s Night Soliloquy with the band accompanying.  A trio of trumpet players, Jonathan McClay, Adam White, and Cory Morgan, from the studio of Tim Hudson, will perform Leroy Anderson’s famous Bugler’s Holiday, once again with band accompaniment. Additional concert selections include Toccata Marziale by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Pas Redoublé by Camille Saint-Saëns, Fanfare Prelude on the Italian Hymn by James Curnow, and Blues for a Killed Kat by Jack End. The band will also pay tribute to President John F. Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of his death by presenting Ronald Lo Presti’s Elegy for A Young American.
